I have a confession to make: I am addicted to Law & Order SVU reruns. How much so? Well, I think starting or ending your day with an episode at least 5 days a week classifies as an obsession. Luckily, I don’t have to share this obsession alone, because my boyfriend Brett is just as addicted. In fact, as I write this blog I am watching Season 3, Episode 5 for the fourth (yes fourth!) time. I feel semi-guilty, as I could’ve written this blog later and took ballet class as I promised myself, but I had to find out how the episode ended. It was one of the few episodes where I couldn’t remember.
If you’ve watched the show as much as I have then you’ve seen slow the evolution of Detective Olivia Benson’s (played by Mariska Hargitay) wardrobe from hard-edged, almost-unisex wear, to a more feminine, yet professional uniform (Brett loves guessing how many times she’s worn the tight red or blue turtleneck in earlier episodes).
But, now with her beloved Stabler gone from the show, Benson has taken a turn for the sexier, and I felt as a dedicated fan it was obligation to give a few style suggestions. I think they stay within the detective realm….just a lil’ hotter. After 12+ years on the force, Benson deserves it.
What do you think?
Also, some bonuses for L&O SVU fans:
A funny, yet politically incorrect drinking game to play while watching. I haven’t tried it…yet.
